Beginning of creation of indie game.

Where it started.

I got an idea of "new" game while I was playing Left 4 Dead 2. I was dead in game and I could fly through walls in forest type of environment. It kinda reminded me of those 2D giant worm games, that you destroy cities. So my Idea is to make it in 3D. A lot of question is in my head. How does movement work? How long it takes to make? How it will look and how does people react to it?

Design.

As big part design is I have to do it. I tried whit out. Worm could move forward whit W button and backwards whit S button. Mouse could do turning to all directions. Idea could be Instead of destroy everything and kill everyone, it could be hunt targets down. I have to figure that one later in progress. One major thing I started to think is visibility. If worm is under ground how do you know where target is? Target could be marked whit red outlines or areas that make ground shake would turn red. one of those thing I have to decide later. Where is movement speed based on? Amount of worm parts under ground or How does game end? Maybe at some score or time limit. Rest of thing I have been thinking is more of How do I code this game.

Game creation stuff I have to think:

How do I detect is worm underground? I was first thinking about raycast coming from each part of worm detecting if there is ground above. How does worm go through ground? I like to extend saying: Imagination is only limitation; to: Imagination and tool knowledge only limitation. What kind of looks I will have on this? I was thinking some thing between colorful world and grey battleground.

Ending words.

I personally think this as one of most coolest game ideas I have ever had. I think I will have fun and frustration during creation of this project.

Introduction of myself

Map titled TrandingPort

Hi! My name is Aarni. I am 17 years old student from Finland. I will tell about my interest at this page.

At my free time I do stuff like 3D-modeling, photo editing, coding and level design.
Most of these things, are not public mostly because I do them for myself.

3D-Modeling has been quite longtime hobby for me. I started it 3 years ago and progress can be seen, at my hard drive. I have noticed that making of models that I am interested in is way much easier that doing something that someone asked you to do...

Photo editing has been one of my favorite work because it takes least time of them all and result looks good even if I don't spend whole day on it. I do use paint.net to edit my photos.

I have always been interested in video games and that shines trough level design. It is one of most easiest ways to start learn about game creation especially because developers have usually made tutorials about it. I have mostly used source engines level editor, but I do hope that I would have time to learn other level editors too.

I am currently learning about animation making whit adobe animate. I am making animation where cars and people moving around city. I hope to do some super cool animation, that I could show to everyone.

I have also made game by myself. I think it is quite good game to be my first one. I do have one game project under work that I have wrote plan already.

At the end I think I could tell about things that I would love to learn. Music creation would be interesting, Especially created whit computer.
Other thing I want to learn is to modify other peoples games. Some day I will have that mayan mask at Saints row 2.
